End of Torture

[End of Torture]

She sat by her cell. Waiting. The ringing wails from the other captives echo throughout the hall. The wailing sound dies down and heavy footsteps could be heard.

"Freedom..." was all she thought of. Little did she know, her wish would come true.

The sound of the footsteps came nearer. She ran towards the bars of her cell. Clutching the bars, she pleaded with what little strength she had left.

"Release me...please...I have had enough.." she pleaded.

The prison warden, a muscle bounded man, looked at her with nothing but coldness in his eyes. She looked down and saw a thick and long piece of wood. Almost immediately, she recoiled back to the corner of her cell. The weapon he uses to hit the other prisoners just to indulge in their screams of pain, the very same weapon he was holding now. She immediately regretted what she had done.

In the midst of the darkness that engulfed her cell day and night, she could hear her cell being opened. The prison warden looked at her, without a word, he raised his weapon and started hitting her brutally. Smiling to himself as her screams could be heard, he increased his strength. Wounds from the previous beatings reopened and blood splattered all over the cell. With the last of her strength, she caught hold of the weapon and managed to stab his thigh. He grabbed her hand like she was but a rag doll and flung her to the other side of the cell.

Her vision was fading. Her body, numb from the excessive loss of blood couldn't even budge an inch. She could only hear her own breathing as he continued hitting her. Then she knew, that this is the only freedom that awaited her. This is the end. The end of torture.
